2010 Van Ruiten Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc
The grapes in our 2010 Sauvignon Blanc come from the great Rooster Vineyard in Lake County, north of Sonoma. The Sauvignon Blanc grape is a signature variety for Lake County; the region continues to impress critics with ideal growing conditions and soil compositions that allow for excellent fruit. A slow cold fermentation keeps this wine crisp and fruit-forward. Aromas of grapefruit and Meyer lemon are complimented byluscious flavors of lemon-grass, lavender, and rosemary. Our Sauvignon Blanc is a wonderful aperitif or pair with oysters and shellfish.
The 2009 Winsome Chardonnay is known for conveying a distinctive sense of place. As is typical of good Chardonnays, they use techniques like barrel fermentation, malolactic fermentation, lees stirring and aging in new oak barrels. Their goal is to balance these winemaking techniques with the unique flavors that come from growing Chardonnay in the Lodi Valley.
The 2009 Winsome Chardonnay offers sweet aromas of vanilla and spice balanced by white peach, pear, and citrus notes. On the palate, full, round flavors of white peach and citrus are accompanied by subtle spice flavors of cinnamon on the long finish.
Enjoy this wine paired with creamy pastas, baked sea bass, seared scallops and roast chicken with lemon and herbs.
-NEW RELEASE- Aromas of sweet pineapple, peach and apricot blend together with barrel aromas of fig, honey and vanilla finishing with hints of white peach. Our “Chard” was hand picked and gently squeezed to allow the natural fruit character to shine through. Half of this Chardonnay was fermented in stainless steel and the other half was barrel fermented in small French oak barrels. They are then blended together to enhance the complexity of body, flavor and aroma.
Pinot Grigio has been said to possess red wine capabilities on the dinner table. This versatile varietal has also done an excellent job in enticing the ever increasing number of “Anything but Chardonnay” sentiments of wine drinkers. The 2011 Pinot Gris is brilliant in color and accentuated with powerful aromas of peach blossom, pear, apple and subtly enriched notes of apricot and melon. Our Pinot Gris is packed with tropical fruit and framed with a balanced, elegant mouthfeel that allows the intense fruit flavors to shine.

Viognier is a tricky grape to grow. Its natural low acidity requires is to be picked at just the right moment. Lodi provides ample sun to deliver maximum flavors. Van Ruiten’s vineyards, basked in warm days and cool nights contributed to the full-body weight of this wine.
